How Much Does a Powrtouch Caravan Mover Cost and How Long Will I have to Wait?
Cost will depend on which type of Powrtouch caravan mover you need. Let us know the make and model of your caravan and we will be able to advise you. Prices start from around £759.00 including fitting. Once you have placed your order, we will arrange a mutually convenient date for fitting. Delivery is usually between two to three weeks.
Can I Have Caravan Mover Fitted at Home?
We can install your Powrtouch caravan mover at your home, storage facility or other place of your choosing. However, you must ensure that there is adequate access to your caravan and a safe working environment; for example we cannot fit your mover on the road. If your caravan is at a caravan site or in storage, we ask that you gain permission from the owners beforehand.
What Degree of Slope Can a Powrtouch Mover Cope With?
The Powrtouch Classic Mover can push a 1,500kgs caravan or trailer up a 1 in 4 (25%) slope. The Powrtouch Evolution caravan mover will push any weight caravan, such as a large twin axle, up a 1 in 4 (25%) slope. Powrtouch Caravan Movers can cope with most types of terrain.
How Much Does a Powrtouch Mover Weigh and What Sort of Battery Will I Need?
The Powrtouch Classic weighs approximately 37kg. The Powrtouch Evolution Single Axle Caravan Mover weighs approximately 32kg. For the Powrtouch Classic it is recommended that you use a minimum of a 85AH leisure battery. The Powrtouch Evolution will need a minimum of a 100AH leisure battery.
What About The Guarantee?
Powrtouch Caravan Movers come with a no quibble 5 year parts and labour guarantee if purchased and fitted directly from Powrtouch or one of their Approved Dealerships. A five year parts ONLY guarantee is offered if you decide to fit the unit yourself. Please be aware that South West Caravan Services do not supply Powrtouch Caravan Movers for self fitting.
Powrtouch have a technical department who are willing to help no matter what the situation. Please read the fault finding section of your handbook and carry out and testing required prior to them.
What is The Powrbar For?
If you do not have access to one side of your caravan, the Powrbar can engage and disengage both rollers from one side of the caravan simultaneously.
Once Fitted, How Secure is The Mover and Is It Weatherproof?
The mover is clamped to the chassis of the caravan with the motor cables being fed to the electronics which are housed inside of your caravan. A Powrtouch Caravan Mover will withstand typical weather and road conditions. It is advised that basic maintenance is carried out every 3 to 6 months to ensure optimum performance.
If I Change My Caravan, Can I Have My Mover Re-Fitted To My New Caravan?
It can take approximately three hours to fit a Powrtouch Caravan Mover and they can be easily swapped from one caravan to another. However, please note that you cannot move a single axle mover to a twin axle caravan or vice versa. Some caravans also have different types of chassis and so additional fitting kits may be required.
Can The Rollers Cause Wear to The Caravan Tyres?
When fitted correctly the rollers should not have any adverse effect on your caravan tyres.
What About Using My Wheelclamp?
This will depend on the model and type of wheelclamp. Rollers stands aapproximately 20mm away from centre line of the tyre. You can use a Milenco Rise and Clamp wheel clamp, an SAS, Bulldog QD, ‘SUPACLAMP’ and the Pyramid Chock Wheel Clamp. This list is not exhaustive and there are other types that may also fit.
What About Safety?
Powrtouch movers have a soft start to limit the stress on the caravan and provide more manoeuvrability. The electronics will automatically switch off after a short period of time, placing less strain on the caravan electrics. This also provides additional security. The caravan mover handset has a built in safety device, making it difficult to switch on accidentally. There is also an emergency stop button (FM Electronics Control Systems Only). There is also the provision of an umbilical cord, so that if your handset battery runs out, you may still manoeuvre you caravan with the Powrtouch Caravan Mover (FMCD only).
